In November 212 the Chair of the Constitutional and Supervisory Committee, Valgerður Bjarnadóttir, sent a request (pdf) to the Venice Commission to review and give its opinion on a proposal for a new constitution for the Republic of Iceland (pdf) ( Excerpts from the notes to the Constitutional Bill (pdf)).
The Venice Commission sent a Draft opinion (pdf) on the proposal in February 2013.
